Atlanta DSA has several branches that meet on a monthly basis, organized by geography. Branches are a way for members to plug in locally while we collectively organize to build socialism across the Metro Atlanta.

Our branches do not cover all of Metro Atlanta yet. Members who do not live inside one of the below branches are encouraged to join the branch closest to them.

Interested members are also encouraged to start organizing branches in their own areas. To start organizing a branch in your neighborhood, contact Atlanta DSA’s Steering Committee at steering@atldsa.org for help getting started!

City Branches

Because of the density and uniqueness of Atlanta’s city government, our city branches are focused on hyperlocal organizing within the city. That means organizing around Neighborhood Planning Units (NPUs), neighborhood associations, and city council meetings. These branches are rooted in the day-to-day decisions that shape our communities and we organize to make sure working-class voices are at the table.

Suburban Branches

Metro Atlanta is one of the most sprawling regions in the country, creating a real need for organizing beyond the urban core. Our suburban branches are organized by county, reflecting Georgia’s political structure, where counties hold the most power over local issues like housing, policing, and public services. These branches also support hyperlocal organizing at the municipal level when needed, ensuring we can build power block by block, city by city.
