Speaking Truth to Georgia Power
Every three years the Georgia Power Company submits an Integrated Resource Plan “to meet Georgia’s future energy needs” for approval by the Georgia Public Service Commission, which holds public hearings on the plan. On April 8 a coalition of 17 organizations, including MADSA, Move Georgia Beyond Coal, and the Sierra Club, provided public comments to the first in a series of three hearings on the IRP (they continue on 4/9 and 4/10); held a rally across the street at Central Presbyterian Church; and demonstrated in the street to tell the PSC and Georgia Power “that we the people call for clean affordable energy and environmental justice in our communities across Georgia!”
