Identity Sections

As Atlanta DSA continues to grow its membership, it is increasingly important to create safe spaces for members who share a common identity to organize, build solidarity, and support one another in their activism. Identity Sections are not focused on specific campaigns or policy issues but instead serve as shared spaces for members of a common identity to build solidarity and community

Afrosocialist and Socialists of Color

The Afrosocialist and Socialists of Color (AfroSoC) Section of Atlanta DSA seeks to uphold the legacy of the Black radical tradition, which has been instrumental in the fight for liberation and justice, and to continue building upon that tradition within the context of a multi-racial socialist movement. We recognize that capitalism, white supremacy, and imperialism have disproportionately harmed communities of color, and we are committed to dismantling these systems while fostering solidarity among working-class people.

Feminist Socialists

The Feminist Socialists (FemSoc) Section of Atlanta DSA exists to stand against patriarchy and gender-based violence. The Section seeks to create a community space for women, transgender, femme, and non-binary comrades to come together in typically male-dominated leftist spaces. We recognize that capitalism and colonialism have oppressed women and those outside the gender binary disproportionately.
